About This Course: This two day course provides the skill and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence. It aims to teach boat handling and seamanship in powerboats. It focuses on low-speed close quatres handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speeds and collision regulations. The course can take place at Inland or Coastal locations. It may be conducted on a variety of boat types; the certificate will be endorsed with the type of boat the training took place on. Course Content: Launching and recovery, boat handling, securing to a buoy, anchoring, leaving, and coming alongside, man overboard, basic navigation and tides and weather. Ability After The Course: Self-sufficient powerboater in the right conditions, aware of own limitations and those of the craft. Previous Experience or Knowledge: N​/​A Min. Age: 18
